Volume Menu Functions

Amplify

This function allows you to increase or decrease the volume. It applies to the selected data from the current file. You can define the amplification level with the knob or by directly entering the value in the "Level" field.

Normalize

This function automatically brings the volume to an acceptable listening level. It applies to the selected data from the current file.

Balance

This function allows you to adjust the volume on the right or left channel. It applies to the selected data from the current file.

If the "Independent Channels" box is checked, you can adjust the volume of both channels independently; otherwise, the volume of the left channel is automatically increased or decreased proportionally to the increase or decrease of the volume of the right channel, and vice versa. This function is only available for Stereo mode files.

You can set the volume level of each channel with the knobs or by directly entering the values in the corresponding fields.

Fades

This function allows you to create fading effects (gradual increase or decrease in volume). It applies to the selected data from the current file.

Three types of fades are available: :

  • Fade In: Produces an effect that gives the impression that the sound "appears" gradually. It is usually used at the beginning of a file.
  • Fade Out: Produces an effect that gives the impression that the sound "disappears" gradually. It is usually used at the end of a file.
  • Comment Fade: Allows the volume to decrease gradually to a certain threshold, maintain the volume at this threshold level for a defined time, then gradually increase the volume back to the original level. It can be used, for example, in creating a soundtrack for a video, to decrease the background music volume during commentary.
You can adjust the minimum volume and transition duration with the mouse on the representative fade graph or by directly entering the values in the corresponding fields.

Erase

This function reduces the volume of the selected data from the current file to zero.
